How abundant RAM is ample for the PC have processor speed of 866mhz?

512MB of RAM is sufficient for a system running on a processor at 866MHz... I have one, and it worked well for 5 years till I in actuality realised that I needed a faster PC for my needs...
Go to www.crucial.com for a free examination of your machine and suggestions as to RAM requirements.
What are you going to use it for? Gaming or simple tasks resembling web browsing, serious word processing. I'd say 512MB would be a dutiful balance.
required RAM size depends on the size of the programs you have need of to run rather than on the processor speed. Usually two time of the RAM is reserved from Hard Disk as Cache for optimum observation. When you run a usual application, go to system reading and look for CPU and RAM used. If only RAM is 100%, you inevitability to add more memory. If both CPU and memeory is 100% time to upgrade your PC.
128mb run into.

Note:the amount of memory should be proportional to the speed of the machine.too much memory on a processor of low speed usualy make the processor to slow even more.
